The results of the 2026 parliamentary elections in Morocco are beginning to shape a new configuration of the House of Representatives. According to provisional results announced by Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) is in the lead with 97 seats. The National Rally of Independents (RNI) follows with 66 seats, ahead of the Istiqlal Party with 65.
The 23 September vote recorded a national turnout of 38.08%. The announced results cover all 395 seats in the House of Representatives, pending their final validation.
2026 legislative results in Morocco: PAM comes out on top
PAM secured 97 seats, taking first place in the new parliamentary line-up.
The National Rally of Independents (RNI) came second with 66 seats, closely followed by the Istiqlal Party with 65 seats.
The Justice and Development Party (PJD) took fourth place with 54 seats, a sharp contrast with 2021, when the party had won 13 seats.
This new distribution therefore significantly alters the balance of power within the House.

Together, these figures make up the 395 seats of the House of Representatives.
PJD regains a significant place in Parliament
The PJD’s performance is one of the main developments in these 2026 parliamentary election results in Morocco.
With 54 seats, the party recovers a level of representation far higher than in the 2021 vote, when it held 13 seats according to the official results.
PJD thus becomes the fourth-largest group in the new House.
Voter turnout of 38.08%
The Ministry of the Interior set the national turnout at 38.08%.
Around six million voters took part in the election. By comparison, turnout reached 50.86% in 2021 and 42.27% in 2016.
The authorities also reported particularly high participation in several southern provinces: 77% in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, 61% in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and 53.48% in Guelmim-Oued Noun.
What happens after the results?
The new configuration of the House now opens an institutional phase.
The results must still go through the validation process provided for in the electoral framework. Formation of the new government will then follow in line with the constitutional provisions. The official elections portal specifies that the head of government is appointed after the results are validated.
At this stage, the figures mainly make it possible to understand the new distribution of seats. On their own, they do not determine the future make-up of the government.
The results of the 2026 parliamentary elections in Morocco therefore mark a new stage in parliamentary life. PAM leads the way, followed by RNI, Istiqlal and PJD.
