In addition to customs officials inspecting the items you are carrying (foreign currency, goods, etc.), security checkpoints are also in place on board ships. All passengers must present themselves in person at these checkpoints, and no travel document may be processed without the holder being physically present.

The three key steps to remember:

• Complete the registration form;
• Once on board the boat, go to the cross-border checkpoint to have your passport stamped, so as to avoid any delays on arrival in the Kingdom;
• Complete the customs formalities.

Please note:

When it comes to border checks, in addition to your valid passport, here are a few points to bear in mind:

• The national electronic identity card (CNIE) is compulsory from the age of 18 and optional between the ages of 12 and 18 as proof of Moroccan nationality.
• Minors travelling with third parties must carry parental authorisation in addition to their valid personal travel documents.
• Spouses of Moroccan citizens who are subject to a visa requirement for entry into Morocco must have completed this formality in advance or, where applicable, produce a marriage certificate proving their marital relationship in order to apply for a special authorisation in accordance with the regulations in force.
• You must be able to prove where you will be staying.
• You must prove that you have enough money to support yourself without working whilst you are there.
