Here are a few practical tips for organising your personal belongings and luggage when travelling:

• Keep your luggage to a minimum to avoid additional charges. You must also comply with the size and weight limits specified by your airline, particularly for hand luggage.
• Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that are easy to take off during airport security checks.
• Please be prepared to remove any metal objects and liquids before going through security.
• Please keep your travel documents to hand for check-in and security checks.
• Make sure your luggage is clearly labelled with your name and address, and consider including a note with your details inside your luggage.
• Avoid carrying valuables in your checked-in luggage.
• Keep your medicines and prescriptions with you in your hand luggage.
• Please pack all fragile items carefully to prevent damage during transit.
• Never agree to carry luggage or parcels on behalf of third parties, for whatever reason.
• Never leave your luggage unattended, even for a short time. It could be regarded as suspicious and lead to additional security measures, or even its destruction.

Checks

In addition to customs officials inspecting the items you are carrying (currency, goods, etc.), security checks are carried out before you enter the boarding area. Your hand luggage must pass through an X-ray scanner and may also be subject to a manual search.

For example, it is strictly forbidden to carry a weapon or any object that could be used as a weapon (such as scissors or craft knives) in your hand luggage. As a general rule, the following items are also prohibited in the cabin (see your airline’s website or that of your departure airport for further details):

• Perfumes and liquid products containing more than 100 ml per bottle,
• Cosmetic aerosols containing more than 100 ml per container.

Important: If you have a pacemaker or any other implanted medical device (such as an insulin pump or even certain types of hearing aid), please inform the security officer and do not go through the metal detector (you will still be subject to a body search).

Please note:

When it comes to border checks, in addition to your valid passport, here are a few points to bear in mind:

• The national electronic identity card (CNIE) is compulsory from the age of 18 and optional between the ages of 12 and 18 as proof of Moroccan nationality.
• Minors travelling with third parties must carry parental authorisation in addition to their valid personal travel documents.
• Spouses of Moroccan citizens who are subject to a visa requirement for entry into Morocco must have completed this formality in advance or, where applicable, produce a marriage certificate proving their marital relationship in order to apply for a special authorisation in accordance with the regulations in force.
